Any good free VST plugins?

I’m just starting out with music production and trying to find some good free VST plugins to build up my collection. There are so many out there, but a lot of them seem hit or miss. I’m looking for stuff like synths, effects, or anything useful for electronic and ambient music. I’ve seen people recommend things like Vital and Surge, but are there any hidden gems

Cheap music gear

I’m trying to upgrade my studio setup but don’t have a huge budget. What gear do you think is essential without breaking the bank?I’m looking for an audio interface, maybe some decent monitors, and a good mic for recording. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about the Focusrite Scarlett and KRK Rokits. Are they still the best options for the price, or is there som

Swarm Reverb: My Thoughts After Testing It

I’ve been using the new Swarm Reverb plugin from Minimal Audio, and I think it’s one of the most creative tools I’ve tried recently. The swarm modulation is really impressive. It makes reverb tails feel like they’re moving and evolving in the mix, which adds a ton of depth. It’s super flexible too. You can keep it subtle for a clean, spacious sound, or push i

What hardware gear do you actually recommend?

Hey everyone,I’ve been putting together my home studio for a while now, but I mostly use software and a basic MIDI controller. I think it’s time to add some hardware, but I don’t want to waste money on stuff that just looks cool but doesn’t actually do much. For an audio interface, I’ve been looking at the Focusrite Scarlett series. Is it still good,

Some great plugins

Hey everyone,I’ve been testing a bunch of free VST plugins lately, and I thought I’d share a few that really stood out. Vital has been an absolute favorite for synth design. It’s super intuitive, and the sound quality is insane for a free plugin. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already.Another one I’ve been using is Surge. It’s packed

Swapped My MIDI Controller and Loving It

I just upgraded my old MIDI controller to the Arturia KeyLab Essential, and it’s been such a step up. The integration with my DAW (Ableton) is smooth, and the build quality feels way better than my last one. The knobs and sliders are super responsive, and having pads that actually feel good to use is a game-changer.I’ve also been messing around with some of the included Ar

Why I Finally Got a Patchbay (and Love It)

Hey everyone,After years of putting it off, I finally added a patchbay to my setup, and I honestly don’t know why I waited so long. I picked up a cheap Neutrik patchbay, and it’s made routing my gear so much easier. No more crawling behind my desk to swap cables—it’s all right in front of me now.I’ve got my interface, synths, and outboard gear all h

Gear Addition: Analog Heat MKII!

Hey everyone,Just added the Elektron AnalogHeat MKII to my setup, and I’m absolutely loving it. It’s basically a saturation and distortion box, but it’s so much more than that. The ability to shape sounds with the EQ and filters is next level. I’ve been running everything through it. synths, drum loops, even entire mixes, and it just adds this warmth and character that
