VINTAGE EXCITER

Type B is a plugin inspired by a famous vintage exciter effect.

The original unit was designed to add presence and brightness to vocal or instrument tracks. It was often used to enhance dull recordings where the high frequency content was missing due to tape overdubs.

Type B lets you control more aspects of the exciter circuit emulation, giving you access to the internal filter, the harmonic generator and more.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Exciters generate high-frequency content that is not part of the original signal using a combination of filtering and distortion (harmonic generator).

The input signal goes into a filter (usually highpass, but you can also choose bandpass with Type B) before feeding it into the harmonic generator.

You have controls over the generated harmonics using the Color parameter. The signal is then mixed back with the dry signal.

Wake up your low end

Knorr is a plugin that adds intensity and edge to a monophonic low-frequency audio source (like a bass). The algorithm adds overtones to an existing sound in a way that isn’t possible with ordinary distortion or filtering.

The Knorr Algorithm 

The underlying algorithm uses a combination of filtering, amplitude- and frequency modulation to process incoming audio. Knorr is developed with bass sounds in mind but can be used on any monophonic sound source as long as there is audio content available in the low mids (and below).

• 1. Bragging about dragging – The handling of Knorr is almost painfully simple, simply drag the control along the X/Y-pad, and find your tone.
• 2. WYSIWYH – (What You See Is What You Hear) – a visual representation of how the algorithm works.
• 3. How hard can it be? – Three different intensity levels of the algorithm.

IGNITE

Ignite mode allows you to dial in rich harmonic distortion in a dynamic way based on the input signal. Ignite can increase the perceived loudness, power and presence of a channel without the pumping effects of a compressor.

Valves is a vintage valve emulation plugin with multi-mode resonant filter and cabinet/EQ section

The valve section is modeled after classic vintage tubes, with added grit and custom gain control.

The filter section is modeled after a classic ladder filter (2-pole or 4-pole) with low pass, high pass, bandpass and notch modes.

The cabinet/EQ section features a selection of modeled cabinets with classic bass and treble EQ controls.

WARM UP

With up to 16x oversampling, Valves can be used to add that authentic tube character to your tracks.

Using the built-in Cabinet/EQ section you can emulate several types of guitar amplifiers and further shape the overdrive sound.

The state variable filter features LowPass, HighPass, BandPass, and Notch modes. It can be used pre or post valve.

The Side Enhancer found in the stereo version of Oxygen allows you to widen the high-end of your tracks. This can work great on stereo busses, giving extra width and shimmer to cymbals, vocals or other sources.

• At the core of Oxygen lies a smooth crossover filter with three predefined and carefully selected cutoff values, to give Bite, Presence or Air to the sound.
• A compressor that consists of two fine-tuned modes which are targeted specifically to work on high frequencies. And a Control knob that is smartly setting the compression of the algorithm.
• The tape saturation circuit is tuned to work great together with the high frequency parts of a signal. The additional added harmonics and imperfections allow to create a warmer high-end that can be boosted further without getting tiring to the ears.
