1. NS1 Noise Suppressor

by: Waves

NS1 Noise Suppressor

The most intuitive professional noise suppression plugin ever created, Waves NS1 Noise Suppressor intelligently differentiates between dialog and unwanted noise. Perfect for post production, audio forensics and musical applications alike, NS1 instantly analyzes and adapts to your signal in real-time, bringing the foreground into focus as it eliminates unnecessary background noise. Controlled by a simple single fader, NS1 also features an attenuation meter which shows you just how much overall energy is being removed from your input signal.

With NS1, noise suppression is as easy as fading away.

2. X-Noise

by: Waves

X-Noise

With simple, intuitive controls similar to those found on traditional dynamics processors, X-Noise is perfect for removing tape hiss as well as air conditioner and computer noise from individual tracks, complete mixes, or damaged recordings.

3. Z-Noise

by: Waves

Z-Noise

Hiss happens. So does ground hum, computer noise, and any number of unwanted sonic artifacts. Bring on Z-Noise, and hear them disappear. Featuring real-time noise profiling, innovative transient preservation, and increased low-frequency resolution, Z-Noise truly is a revolution in noise reduction.

4. WNS Noise Suppressor

by: Waves

WNS Noise Suppressor

WNS Waves Noise Suppressor is a real-time noise reduction plugin for cleaning dialog tracks. Unsurpassed for noise suppression on both indoor and location recordings with constant or modulating environment noise, WNS was precision-engineered to reduce noise from dialog, narration, voiceovers and broadcast, with minimal artifacts. WNS features six adjustable bands and a large graphic display which helps you identify problem frequencies, plus an exclusive “Suggest” feature which uses cutting-edge technology to analyze signal noise, then automatically adjust the plugin parameters to provide an optimized starting point.

5. W43 Noise Reduction Plugin

by: Waves

W43 Noise Reduction Plugin

Ambient noise: Hiss. Hum. Traffic. Wind. Air conditioning. They can all wreak havoc on dialog tracks. With Waves W43, they’re a thing of the past.

Inspired by the renowned CAT 43, the W43 noise reduction plugin builds upon the legacy of the popular unit that’s been a post production favorite for decades. With four fixed frequency bands, the W43 is an affordable, easy-to-use plugin which delivers high quality, minimal artifact noise reduction like the original hardware, while adding all the advantages of software.

Working post professionals know you can never have too many noise suppression tools, since different technologies excel at different tasks. With the W43 in your tool set, you’ll be ready for any noisy dialog that comes your way.

6. X-FDBK

by: Waves

X-FDBK

X-FDBK identifies the precise frequencies that cause feedback and surgically cuts them, dramatically shortening the setup time of monitors and PA speakers.

X-FDBK is the first plugin ever to provide a complete automatic feedback suppression solution. Whether you’re an FOH engineer mixing for thousands or a singer performing with your own compact PA system, you can now get a loud, clear and feedback-free mix in seconds. This way you have one less thing to worry about and you can focus on what’s really important – your mix.

The problem
One of the most important steps before any soundcheck or show is “ringing out” the wedges and PA – pushing them to a volume that produces audible feedback, then identifying the feedback frequencies and cutting those frequencies using a graphic equalizer. Doing this by ear is slow, painful, imprecise, and hence not completely effective. Moreover, to avoid feedback the monitors are often being tamed; as a result, the performers can’t hear themselves loud enough.

The solution
X-FDBK dramatically improves the “ringing out” process and shortens it to a matter of seconds. It identifies the feedback frequencies quickly and precisely and cuts them with a narrow notch, preserving the fidelity of the wedge or PA and enabling you to maximize the gain without getting feedback.

All you need to do is turn up the levels on your wedges and PA until they start to feedback. Then activate the plugin and wait a few seconds until you hear the feedback disappear.

The plugin’s graphic frequency spectrum shows you all feedback frequencies and the degree to which they were cut, letting you tweak them manually if you wish.

Take Control
Everyone wants their monitors and PA as loud and clear as possible and without any feedback. With X-FDBK, you can achieve this easily within seconds.

7. Primary Source Expander

by: Waves

Primary Source Expander

PSE lets you reduce stage bleed and sensitivity to feedback when a mic is idle by automatically lowering mic levels between musical phrases. Perfect for live sound and for mixing live recordings.

At the heart of the Primary Source Expander (PSE) plugin is a precision expander, tailored especially for melodic sources such as vocals, guitars, strings, brass, woodwinds and more. PSE works like a fader that smoothly attenuates the channel’s level when the source goes below the threshold you’ve set. You determine both the threshold and the amount of attenuation.

Reducing stage noise leakage when your microphones are idle will help you get an overall mix that is more coherent, more focused, and has better phase relations.

PSE also provides advanced sidechain and ducking controls for greater consistency and precision when treating complex live scenarios. Whether you are mixing FOH or monitors in a live venue or working on a live recording in the studio, PSE will ensure that your mics are as loud and clean as they can be, while preserving your source’s original tone and the natural ambience of your location.

8. X-Click

by: Waves

X-Click

Ideal for restoring vintage vinyl and shellac records, X-Click removes strong transient noise like clicks, spikes, switching noise, and digital crosstalk while preserving the sonic integrity of your source material.

9. X-Crackle

by: Waves

X-Crackle

X-Crackle employs the latest psycho-acoustic algorithms to remove crackles and surface noise from vinyl records and damaged recordings, with results equal to or better than more expensive dedicated hardware solutions.

10. X-Hum

by: Waves

X-Hum

Featuring a friendly interface that’s a snap to learn and use, X-Hum uses eight harmonically linked notch filters to attenuate ground loop hum, DC offset, and low-frequency rumble caused by turntables and tape machines.
