1. Monofilter Elements

Monofilter Elements

Easy & straightforward

Monofilter Elements is a streamlined version of our Monofilter plug-in, giving access to the same bass management technology, in a simplified package.

MAIN FEATURES

  • Sum your bass to mono
  • Sharpen, tighten and define low frequency information
  • Optimise for louder playback
  • Safely mix and master for vinyl
  • Anchor your bass with ease, while maintaining the original character of the track.

Centring the bass where stereo FX are used.

Applying stereo effects to enliven or enrich a sound can work wonders in the mid and high frequencies, but often muddies up the bottom end. Using Monofilter Elements you can add stereo effects and still retain a solid centre in the bass frequencies, by reducing the width below the point at which stereo nature of the effect has ceased to make significant impact.

During Live Recording and Performance.

When working with live material, giving attention to taming the unpredictable and treating the PA with respect can bring real benefits. Using Monofilter Elements to ensure that the subs (and even the bass frequencies in general) are centred in the mix can help share the load between over worked amplifiers and speakers as well as providing a sharper level of clarity in the bottom end. Where a more subtle approach would be of benefit, Monofilter Elements can be used with individual problem instruments and groups (toms/laptop performers/DJ’s/keyboard players using global
delay etc.)

ISL 2st

World class, broadcast quality limiting is an essential requirement for any audio production, and the latest standards also demand true-peak compliance. ISL 2st delivers both, giving you superb sound with complete confidence about meeting the new standards for online delivery. ISL 2st is an intelligent look-ahead brick-wall limiter that provides highly transparent True Peak limiting for all stereo & mono content. ISL 2st is designed to allow you to get on with creative audio production while it takes care of true-peak compliance for you. It delivers content fully compatible with loudness normalization standards used by iTunes Radio, Spotify and many others. The risk of distortion from down-stream codec conversion (mp3, AAC etc.) is eliminated with ISL 2 on the master bus. No need to second guess your sample-peak limiter time and again, or deliberately increase headroom to avoid a downstream problem. Just dial in your true-peak limit and let ISL take care of the rest. Pristine quality true-peak limiting ISL 2st includes Apple ‘afclip’ true-peak detection, and many other algorithms suitable for the control of audio for Music & Post Production applications. Powerful Processing and Visualisations With unique Steering and Ducking meters, ISL2st guides you to the perfect settings. Whether you are preserving directional integrity or atmospheric ambience, ISL2st gives you the information and control you need to achieve your objective with ease. New processing enhancements assess the incoming audio for frequency content and automatically take care of those minor adjustments required when LF content drives the limiter, delivering increased transparency whilst maintaining our renowned reputation of intuitive operation. Applications

  • Post Production & Broadcast audio
  • Audio Mastering
  • Loudness compliance
  • Apple ‘afclip’ intersample clip monitoring
  • Protection for downstream compression
  • Preserving quality for streaming/podcast

4. SEQ S

SEQ S

SEQ-S gives you powerful sonic sculpting and EQ matching up to 7.1, with stereo mid-side operation and automated spectrum analysis. Massage and correct any audio with incredible resolution that you just can’t get with a traditional parametric interface. A direct-draw interface and detailed spectrum analysis make it easy to quickly identify and specifically fine-tune your audio. Couple this with EQ matching via sonic fingerprinting and you have some unique possibilities. New: Fluid filter morphing transitions Version 1.2 introduces automated EQ morphing for controlled scene transitions and creative sound design possibilities. With three independent EQ transition pairs, including dynamic and static pass filter effects, seamless transitions from different environments, creative morphs and tempo-locked effects are easily achieved, with full dynamic visual feedback. Match one recording to another Beyond traditional EQ, you can also use SEQ-S to capture the flavour of a piece of source audio and then transfer it to your current work – great for restoration and harmonisation work. Or use the same technique on individual tracks to unify different takes, microphone positions, and more. Create ‘perfect’ space The EQ Invert control gives you a minimally-invasive technique for creating space in a complex mix where traditional EQs are just too cumbersome. By ‘sampling’ the vocal and applying the inverted the curve to the backing, specific space can be gently created without unnecessarily altering the original tonality of the underlying audio. High definition low frequency control Unlike many linear phase EQs, SEQ-S has a unique Quality Setting that gives it great precision in the low frequencies, allowing you to make highly transparent adjustments without muddying the mix. The resolution is scalable to suit your task. Choose all the precision you need for demanding work during mastering, or vary the setting to run multiple instances concurrently during a mixing session.

5. MasterCheck

MasterCheck

MasterCheck immediately reveals how the consumer will hear your productions on todays music platforms. Mix and master to target and the quality of your audio will be assured all the way to the consumer with no nasty surprises after release. Compare and contrast your productions with reference works and learn from the best. MasterCheck gives you the tools to evaluate your work and seize the competitive advantage by producing directly for the playout environment, allowing you to effectively utilise maximum dynamic range without compromising on loudness or risking distortion introduced by mp3 or AAC compression. MasterCheck instantly de-mystifies loudness normalised playout systems, showing you the effect of compression on your audio so you can immediately determine how much is enough and by using loudness matching, exactly what is happening to the transients etc. as the compression increases. Now you can quickly find the point beyond which playout systems kick into effect, putting you back in control of how your productions will sound. Applications

  • Audio production to loudness target
  • Measuring dynamic content
  • Avoiding downstream clipping introduced by compression codecs
  • Compare your loudness and dynamics with reference material
  • Audition Loudness matched FX chains
  • Objectively evaluate compression settings with PLR & loudness matching

6. Stereoplacer Elements

Stereoplacer Elements

Effortless & essential

Stereoplacer Elements is a simplified version of our Stereoplacer plug-in, allowing the same frequency-specific panoramic placement, in a lightweight package.

MAIN FEATURES

  • Reconstruct a stereo image from mono
  • Fix poor stereo microphone placement
  • Restore archive recordings
  • Tidy up samples from old records

The rest of the stereo image will remain intact, and the balance of original sounds will be preserved.

Stereo Spectrum Analysis

The graphical display in Stereoplacer Elements can be used as a Stereo differential spectrum analyser. Leaving controls in their default positions will set up the plugin in analysis mode. The incoming sound is not affected, but is analysed for stereo content, which is then displayed visually.

‘Panning’ Bass.

Panning bass sounds is usually something best avoided as off-centre high energy in the low frequencies can present more problems than it resolves. However, using Stereoplacer Elements, the low frequencies present in say a bass guitar track, can be left centre while the higher frequencies (i.e. much of the attack component) can be moved in the stereo field with a shelving band, without the usual problems of the attending lows, giving the impression that the bass part has been panned, when really it is only the high, directional information carrying frequencies that have been moved.

7. Monofilter

Monofilter

Trusted by producers the world over, Monofilter grabs hold of your bass and roots it solidly within your mix. With its intuitive controls you can quickly anchor the power, while retaining the essential character and perceived spatial characteristics of the original sound. Monofilter defines the centre of your bass, so easily lost through stereo effects processing, synth sound generation, unwanted phase inconsistencies and live recording mic. bleed. Market-leading features give you really accurate control over stereo spread, transition and phase alignment, with precise visual feedback in a tactile interface that lets you grab the applied stereo envelope and manipulate it directly – without using abstract parameters and knobs. A solid foundation When solid or natural sounding bass is a requirement in your recording projects, Monofilter provides the foundation for real power and definition. The non-directional nature of low frequencies can often contribute to a perceived lack of clarity and focus in the mix. Adding stereo FX processing and using multiple mic. set-ups in the studio can introduce phase inconsistencies leading to ‘weak’, ‘hollow’ or ‘flat’ sounds. Monofilter lets you align and balance low frequencies with the minimum of effort, leaving you with the same sound, yet louder, more focussed and better defined. And with Monofilter you can be sure of great playback performance on systems with separate low-frequency handling, such as club PAs, live rigs, home cinema systems, HiFi, and 2.1 gaming systems. Applications

  • Bringing definition to weak/hollow/flat bass
  • Re-centering LF after stereo FX
  • Correcting phase issues
  • Sampling/restoring old masters
  • Taking care for vinyl
  • Psychoacoustic ‘Panning’ bass
  • Making a frequency split
  • Stereo spectrum analysis

For Your Plugins

Add mid/side functionality to classic stereo compressor and EQ emulations, or get creative with mid/side delays, distortion and many other effects by inserting the mid/side encoder/decoder either side of any left/right plug-in instance.

Insert the Protect unit across your output bus and this safety module will automatically cut in to prevent bursts of noise or feedback howls due to system errors, saving both your nerves and your speakers.

Manual or auto reset options give you the level of protection you need.

Want to try some parallel processing? Drop in the Tap module and you are good to go. Use the Crossover module to split the highs from the lows to apply different effects to different frequency ranges – great for avoiding muddying up the low frequencies or getting creative with automation and sweep effects.

For Your Daw

Several of SigMod’s modules offer easy access to functionality which is either missing from certain DAWs, or at least complicated to access natively. Solo/mute or trim the left and right sides of a stereo signal independently, or easily flip the stereo image in one click. Quickly detect and correct DC offset to retain valuable headroom.

How does your mix sound in mono? Think about how many listeners will be using a phone or a DAB radio with one speaker – the Mono module switches your signal from stereo to mono in one click.

You can also check the phase relationship between your left and right channels with the Phase module.
