Schoeps MK2 SG Omni
Microphone CapsuleThe MK 2S exhibits a slight high-frequency emphasis for frontal sound incidence, with only a slight rolloff of high frequencies off axis and in the reverberant sound field.
This frequency response characteristic falls between that of the MK 2 and the MK 3, making the capsule suitable for a wide range of applications. The MK 2S has proven particularly useful in two- and three-microphone stereo arrays, where its placement near the reverberation radius of the sound field presents a sonically balanced pickup favored by many recording engineers. This model has become our most popular pressure transducer.

Schoeps CCM41 Lg
Compact Condenser Microphone
The CCM 41 is strongly directional. Sound arriving from off axis is attenuated even more than with a cardioid. The pickup is “drier” and less susceptible to acoustic feedback than any other SCHOEPS microphone type (a loudspeaker should not be located directly along the rear axis of the microphone, however). Its directivity is highly independent of frequency, so that even sounds arriving off axis and reverberant sound are registered without coloration. Consequently, even distant placement of the capsule produces a very natural sound pickup. This is a real advantage over interference-tube “shotgun” microphones, whose directivity is very frequency-dependent – exceeding that of a supercardioid only at higher frequencies. The CCM 41 is a surprisingly effective, space-saving alternative to shotgun microphones – and being small, it can often be placed closer to the sound source. An M/S microphone arrangement can be set up at quite some distance from the sound source if an CCM 41 is used for the “M“ channel.

Schoeps B5
PopscreenIt is sufficient for medium-to-high speakers to protect the cardioid and other pressure gradient receivers, especially when they are speech microphones. For bullets it is sufficient even in low winds. Very low sound.

Schoeps MK 2 H
Microphone Capsule
Its appearance distinguishes this type of microphone from the other SCHOEPS pressure transducers. The typical grille is missing, and the sound inlet has been narrowed by a gold-plated ring compared to the other types. This change leads to a frequency response raised above 6 kHz (to compensate for high frequency losses). Similar to the MK 2S or CCM 2S, where the treble boost begins about an octave lower, this type of microphone will only be used in the near field if slight brilliance is desired, something at which the MK 2H and the CCM 2H are not as strong. But their real field of application lies at a greater distance from the sound source, for example in the area of the reverb radius when recording large orchestras. The MK 2 is often used for acoustical measurement, an application for which it has gained a considerable reputation

Schoeps MK 41 G Super Cardioid
Super-Cardioid Capsule
The MK 41 is strongly directional. Sound arriving from off axis is attenuated even more than with a cardioid. The pickup is “drier” and less susceptible to acoustic feedback than any other SCHOEPS capsule type (a loudspeaker should not be located directly along the rear axis of the microphone, however). Its directivity is highly independent of frequency, so that even sounds arriving off axis and reverberant sound are registered without colouration. Consequently, even distant placement of the capsule produces a very natural sound pickup. This is a real advantage over interference-tube “shotgun” microphones, whose directivity is very frequency-dependent – exceeding that of a supercardioid only at higher frequencies. Interference-tube microphones are notoriously sensitive to their position in a room, where the shifting patterns of reflections cause corresponding shifts in sound color. Thus the MK 41 are surprisingly effective, space-saving alternatives to shotgun microphones – and being small, they can often be placed closer to the sound source. An M/S microphone arrangement can be set up at quite some distance from the sound source if an MK 41 is used for the “M“ channel.
