OST Audio used their own wavetables, which are reconstructions of waves from analog synthesizers from the 80s, and noise from cassette players. This makes the sound really unique, practically indistinguishable from analogs, which you can check by listening to the demo, which consists of pure sounds, without any modifications, pure Vital sound.
