The EMG-81 is a pickup with a strong output. It is best suited for high volumes and amps with a master volume control. If the amp is overdriven properly, the pickup produces attacks ranging from aggressive to razor-sharp (especially important with a high output pickup, but hard to find) with a lot of bite and long sustain.
