Pearly Gates Humbucker Pickup
The Pearly Gates humbucker is essentially a variation on the PAF: to make the Texas attitude of Billy Gibbons and ZZ Top rougher, the Pearly Gates offers a little more “edge”. It sounds snappy in comparison to the ’59 and has more output and sustain. For the neck position there is a Pearly Gates with slightly less output (since the front pickup is always louder), so that the magnificently full-bodied blues sounds come out more clearly – singing rather than roaring!
- For the neck position
- Texas attitude with sizzle in the upper frequency range
- Rough, overtone-rich sound with lots of sustain
- The sound of ZZ Top
- Colour: Black
