The company Artec is a relatively new star in the effect device market and can be described by its solid quality and really interesting prices. The team around mastermind Byoung-Yul Lim in the last two years was very busy developing an independent range of analog pedals and combo amplifiers. The result is excellent and it does not need to shy away from international comparison. Published test reports in professional journals make a clear statement on the quality.

The Delay SE-ADL is an analog delay that brings up the very popular warm, analog sounds of the early 80's. Sound is somewhere between tape echo and accurate, but often sterile digital delay sound. With a maximum delay of 440 mS it is well equipped for most cases. It has adjustable delay time, mix and number of repetitions. And the price? Sensational!

Again and again, effects makers are trying a Parametric EQ, but somehow guitarists (...are we too stupid?) can't seem to get their heads around the devices. There is no more effective sound processing if you really want to change your sound specifically. It's not that hard. Raise the frequency with the gain control and turn the freq knob until you find what's annoying you. Now lower this frequency until it does not annoy anymore and use the width control to tailor how wide the cut should be. This can be simply decided by ear. It is even easier if you want to boost something; e.g. nice mids for the lead sound. Also here: raise, pick out frequency and determine width. And use the level control so that the EQ sound is about the same volume as the unprocessed one. Or turn up the level and heat up the amp when wanting to conjure a lead sound from a single channel amp.

The Artec Parametric EQ can do it all for very little money.

The SE-SWB A / B Box (yes they could still work on the name...) is designed in such a way that the user can route both 2 inputs to one output as well as 1 input to 2 outputs. So you get 2 guitars without re-plugging on an amp or a guitar on 2 amps. An LED indicates where you are on the signal path. If you do not need it, the battery can be dispensed with. The design is such that you can even switch boxes with it. Convenient and very cost-effective. The Graphic Eq & Tuner is a double-pre-mix: an 8-band graphic equalizer allows you to tailor a desired sound, the frequencies are really well chosen. So you have practically a second sound available per amp channel.

If you press the tuner button, you can be correct with the help of the LED display. So you save yourself the precious space on the pedalboard for an additional pedal. It's virtually two for the price of one with the two parts being on one individual piece!

The crew around Mastermind Byoung-Yul Lim has been very busy in the past 2 years developing a separate range of analog pedals and combo amplifiers. Excellent systems have emerged with no need to shy away from international comparisons. The vintage phase shifter makes exactly what its name says: Phaser sounds (which can not "calculate" a digital device really well), like we know them and love them from the 70s. Useful Leslie sounds are also possible (which the Phaser should have originally copied). Adjustable speed, depth and resonance (the latter to give the sound the necessary sharpness - according to taste). And the price? Sensational!
