One such drummer is Benny Benjamin, who is widely regarded as the “Funk Brother” behind many of Motown’s greatest hits. His soulful and groove-driven style can be heard in classics like “My Girl” by The Temptations and “Dancing in the Street” by Martha and the Vandellas.

Another influential drummer in the Motown sound was Uriel Jones, who played on countless hits for artists like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. Jones’ dynamic and expressive playing can be heard on tracks like “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
