A classic effect from the later 70s is definitely one of the big three of the great art of flanging, because this one - in contrast to cheaper competing products - "really flanges". Adjustable in Speed, Width, Regeneration (= feedback) and Manual (= delay time), and with that, everything that sounds good is possible: From chorus-like floating sounds to the jet plane - it has everything.

But what always resonates is the warmth of the sounds, which can not be recreated by any digital all-rounder. Those who like genuinely nice, classic flanging sounds will find it hard to look past this one.

• Phaser Effects UnitThe MXR EVH Phase 90 can be heard in the classic Van Halen guitar style. This is how Eddie Van Halen "spiced up" his legendary Lead sound, especially on the early records. This can clearly be heard in his parade solo on "eruption".

There is, of course, only one control with which the speed of the phasing can be adjusted, everything else is set so that a really pleasant, never too intrusive effect can be achieved.

The pedals of the company MXR are a hit since more than 30 years and alongside classics such as Distortion +, Phase 90, Flanger and Dynacomp, Octavers were always on the top of the MXR-charts.

The MXR M288 Bass Octave Deluxe is just the thing for bassists who like experimenting with their sounds. Not only is it possibility to continuously add a lower octave, you can specifically influence the sound quality of it as well.

The Growl knob brings offerc central growling and enhances the sound realism and definition. The Girth controller provides depth to the sound. Like many other MXR, M134 Stereo Chorus is a classic: First of all, it's an analog piece and it delivers beautiful, wide floating sound that can be rarely heard from today's digital devices. This M 234 Analog Chorus is a redesign and comes in a smaller casing, which makes many people happy. After all, you never have enough space on the pedalboard.

It still does sound uncharacteristically clean for analog - bass filter and equalizer allow the chorus sound to be perfectly tailored to personal taste of sound. As a useful feature, it also has an EQ preset alternative to effect-free clean sound!

The MXR Distortion+ was one of the first good sounding distortion pedals in the 70s (the name distortion is actually misleading - it was one of the first overdrives).

With the MXR 78 Custom Badass Distortion, the good old tradition was combined with new, sensible features. For example, a tone control for tonal flexibility and a crunch switch provide the possibility of choosing between two different distortion characteristics.

The MXR 77 is an even more advanced version, with a 100 Hz controller that can make the sound thinner or ensure stacking wumms. The Badass always sounds tube-like and musical!
