Ambient Palettes‘Ambient Palettes’ is a focused sample pack by Dokkodo Sounds that aims to provide inspiring textures and soundscapes to kickstart tracks. Each melodic component in this collection has been engineered in fine detail to produce innovative and original tonality. Recording began with a Vintage Baldwin Upright and a Rhodes MkII electric piano, recorded through an array of Audio-Technica 4040 microphones. These recordings were then extensively altered with layers of digital signal processing, before being combined with a myriad of collected music boxes and foley textures. Finally, these composite keys are reinforced and augmented with detailed additive and wavetable synthesis.Interlocking delays, rich chamber reverbs, subtle tape distortions, and analogue compression lends an ethereal character to these compound instruments — intimate and complex. Drum processing was achieved in a similar way, stacking layers of synthesized digital drums and processed foley recording to build crisp and granular percussion. Alongside melodic and rhythmic loops, ‘Reverie’ also contains an extensive collection of selected one-shots for building loops of your own, including textural foley recorded in high quality.
