Clarinet Barrel
If conventional clarinet barrel are pulled out for intonation adjustment, only damped vibrations are passed on from the mouthpiece to the clarinet, since the connection is reduced to the tenon cork and, in addition, forming a cavity on the inside and a gap on the outside. The objective was therefore to develop a clarinet barrel whose design avoids these disadvantages and opens up new dimensions in sound, eliminating the above mentioned concerns. The new development, which is protected by industrial property rights, enables a previously unprecedented sound brilliance. The Zoombarrel combines improved sound characteristics and reproducible intoning. Each length setting has a continuous bore and is not interrupted in the outside leads. Tuning settings can be precisely adjusted and visible via an adjusting collar supplied with a scale. In this way, settings can be easily restored. Rotationg the adjusting collar allows the barrel to expand without modifying the axial alignment. The clarinet barrel is manufactured using the latest CNC turning technology and extended by the adjusting collar for intonation assimilation without turning the mouthpiece or the clarinet to each other.
