Organetta is a portable vintage electronic organ made in the early 1970s by the esteemed German manufacturer Hohner.

The sound is nostalgically familiar: something in between a melodica, accordion, and analog synthesizer. The El Luxe 49P used colorful switches to effortlessly transition between tones, from mellow flutes to brilliant trumpet, warm strings to haunting oboe. It had internal speakers, and came with volume-adjustable drum loops to help you practice your gnarly organ chops.

To faithfully capture all of the character of this vintage gem, we meticulously recorded two microphone positions: up close in stereo, and direct line in. Soundiron’s Organetta comes with our favorite synth sustains, deep bass tones, staccatos, drum loops, and keystroke sound effects. Unleash its full potential by experimenting with our built-in FX rack, which offers amplifier emulation, reverb, delay, distortion, and so much more. The Minipoly synth contains raw analogue and tape oscillator samples, great filters and LFOs, a Step Modulator, a chord system, an arpeggiator and eight effects.

Minipoly’s unique TAPE SAWs are long sawtooth waves recorded for each key on tape of a Roland RE-301 Chorus Echo. You can hear wow and flutter and even tape dropouts – quite similar to a Mellotron. The SAW OSC, Square OSC and Noise waves are directly recorded minimoog samples – and sound much crisper than the ‘taped’ waves.

This makes the Minipoly one of the most musical sounding virtual synthesizers and a must have for all Kontakt owners.

The latest PRO version contains many improvements and cool additions like a new Step Modulator, a formant filter, updated (and extended) Kontakt 6 effects, NKS automation and much more.

Resomonia is a Kontakt 6.4.2 instrument with 128 “resonating” presets.

Synchronised Hitpoint Detection

Synchro Hits contains an innovative ‘hitpoint’ detention engine designed to synchronise the ‘hitpoint’ of your effect sound with specific intervals in your project. The engine can detect when the next bar (or half bar) will land no matter when you pressed a key and will automatically adjust the start position of the riser portion of the effect so that the hitpoint lands exactly when you need it.

The Sounds

Sounds for Synchro Hits were recorded by destroying cars, walls, customly made drums etc, but also synthesized with the best digital equipment possible. The sounds are brutal, but can also be enticing and even beautiful. These sounds cannot be found anywhere else and they will add to your unique palette of music. The sounds are perfect for movies, games, TV shows, trailers and teasers.

Need more inspiration? As with most Ergo Kukke instruments you can use various randomization tools to help you get started with designing sounds. So give it a try and with a bit of time you’ll be generating ideas faster than before.

Individual Filters: The filters can be set separately for both Risers and Hits, but they also can be timed to filter sweep into the next sound or out of it. This works well when you want softer or more aggressive sounds.

Individual FX: Both Risers and Hits have a separate chain of FX including Reverb, Delay and Distortion. This is to predesign the sound for the Global chain of FX, if so you choose to.

Global Effects: The Global FX chain applies the FX to both Risers and Hits as the last step of refining your sound. The effects include Compressor, Limiter, Reverb, Stereo, Cabinet and Delay.

Handsome Dan is an experimental custom creation from the mind of master instrument inventor Bart Hopkin: A stringed Zither with a unique twist.

The key is a clever system for picking up and isolating the harmonic resonances in unplayed strings. This flat wooden sound box has 14 strings, with a center bridge dividing them into two segments. A magnetic pickup is placed on one side, but the strings are played primarily on the other side, usually with a slide or plectrum. When a frequency sounding on the played side matches any of the harmonics of the same string on the unplayed side, it sets up a sympathetic vibration in the unplayed segment. That’s the sound that comes through the pickup. The tone is dreamy and ethereal, with a floating, swelling presence.

We’ve faithfully sampled every interesting sound we could get out of this zither, with two stereo mic positions: Contact mics, and mixed mics. Plucks, Slides in a variety of intervals, and Glisses up and down are available in all four layers to easily mix and match. With up to 8x round robin and 6 velocity layers per note, you’ll be swimming in beautiful timbres in no time. We’ve also included a wide selection of custom FX presets and plenty of our signature sound-designed ambient content, crafted from the raw acoustic source to give you complete creative freedom.

Please note: We did not sample any of the Sequential Prophet 2000 factory disk library. A collection of custom samples made on a variety of synths were recorded and then resampled into the Prophet. This is so the internal 12 bit sampler and the internal analogue filters can be used to color and warm the sampled sounds, giving a rich and unique tone.

In Detail

P2000 is a collection of samples created using the unique sampling engine and analogue resonant filters of a Sequential Circuits Prophet 2000 and Prophet 2002 samplers.

Over 1300 samples placed under the control of a very easy to use interface that allows for easy manipulation of the samples. Each sample set is loaded all at the same time and streamed from disc for small memory footprint and easy quick access to the sample material.
Comes supplied with over 200 snapshots for quick and easy access to the presets and 30 MULTI instruments.

The Sequencers in Fameboy are small but very powerful offering many functions for creating unique and interesting patterns. Once you have a sequence you can easily export the midi pattern to your host using drag ‘n’ drop!

Each Sequence can hold up to 8 unique patterns and each pattern can be triggered on-the-fly using keyswitches!

Snapshots

Snapshots are the easiest and most efficient way of loading and saving presets within Kontakt. FAMEBOY comes with a vast selection of snapshots ready to use. Please go to the snapshots folder inside your product folder and locate the folder named [Fame Boy] then copy that folder to your user content folder.

Fameboy comes with a selection of sound design and sequencer presets from our good friend and talented producer Si Begg.

Tape Drive

The Tape Drive pages offer a full set of controls to emulate classic tape degredation effects to add an authentic layer of analog grit to your drums

Voice Select

The Voice page is where you’ll spend most of your time. There are 16 different channels and each channel has up to 16 different samples to choose from. Each sample also has 4 different variations. By using the ‘Style’ controls you can move through each style.

• Style A is a clean and modern playback engine
• Style B is a gritty and filtered playback engine
• Style C is a gritty playback engine
• Style D is a gritty playback engine which, is similar to, but differs from Style C

Each sound can be manipulated even further with a selection of sound-design controls and each each sound can be selected for editing using incoming midi notes for ease-of-use.

Chroma Bells is a collection of 12 tuned steel, brass and bronze hand bells from England, India, China and Tibet. Each one has a distinct brightly or darkly resonant character, providing an awesome variety to fit any arrangement. They’re great for creating full melodic compositions, accenting percussive arrangements or even as pure sound effects.

We recorded single-note rings, sustaining rolls and special muted articulations, each captured with extensive velocity-layering and round robin variations for exceptionally dynamic natural playability and beautiful acoustic realism. There are three stereo microphone positions that you can freely mix and layer. You’ll find our classic ultra-close pair of large-diaphragm studio mics for dry, crisp and strongly present tonality. There’s also a wide-spaced overhead pair of pencil omnis for a spacious room sound. Lastly, just for fun, we’ve used a pair of very rustic tin can microphones that offer a raw, yet somehow smooth mid-century vintage lofi flavor with a warm mid-range, dark tone and rounded transients.

The Alto Melodica is a nice and easy to use reed instrument made since 1958 by the german company Hohner*.

The sound is generated by blowing air thru a mouthpiece into fine brass reeds like those used in Harmonicas.

This underrated instrument was used by musicians like UB40, Depeche Mode, The Gorillas, The Hooters, Supertramp… too name a few!

We are very happy to get our hands on one of these rare old instruments in a very good, maybe never used, condition. This is one of the very first Melodicas ever made.

Recording

We have recorded this old, deep and fat sounding beauty with four different types of microphones thru well selected preamps after some time consuming experiments:

• Piezo Mic (attached to the chassis)
• Condenser Mic (placed 30 cm in front of the instrument)
• Dynamic Mic (placed 30 cm in front of the instrument)
•  Stereo Mic (placed overhead)

Each microphone can turned in separately in the master area at the head of the instrument. So you can take advantage of the different characters of the four microphone types and mix your own original redma sound until it fits your taste perfectly.

The noise from blowing air into the Melodica was separated from the musical material and made usable thru an extra mixing knob.

The same processing we did with the clicks which were produced by pressing the keys on the Melodica. So you can now add/reduce the noise from blowing by turning the noise knob and add/reduce the clicks from the keys by turning the click knob.

Creative Beat Programming

SODIUM is a creative drum and beat-sequencer for Kontakt 6.2.2.

It features 200 inspiring contemporary factory kits. It also comes with hundreds of included drum sounds to get you started. (You can also import your own WAV samples via drag and drop).

SODIUM features four drum sequencers – each one has four distinct drum sounds and 32 steps (divided into two key-switchable patterns). Each sequencer gives you control over velocity, volume and panning, pitch, decay, (lowcut) filter, reverb, multi-fx, sample offset and flam.

Creativity is just one knob away – dial in different preset pattern variations for each sequencer using the preset knobs. Or completely randomize the kit with a single button. You can also “lock” a kit once you like the pattern and exchange it with drum sounds from different preset kits easily.

Multi-output routing is also available for further processing and mixing in your DAW.

Seurat is the first instrument to use our AGRA engine (Advanced Grain Recombination Architecture).

Essentially this is a highly-customisable granular synthesis engine, used across the two complementary voices.

Seurat allows you to manipulate the normal granular controls – grain size, grain frequency, attack and release of each grain and sample position but also adds a range of additional parameter controls for things like grain gain (volume), grain position variation (movement), the space between grains and the symmetry of grain positions in the audio flow offering a range of interesting and often unique outcomes.

Seurat offers an unconventional collection of sounds for movie scoring and sound design.

A Bowed And Warped FX Cymbal  Library For Kontakt

Cymbology is a massive percussion effects library built around bowed cymbals and gongs. We captured 20 unique cymbals, in all shapes, sizes, alloys and varieties, from crashes and splashes to gongs, bells, trashes and even a stack of spent WWII Howitzer artillery shells. We explore the classic bowed cymbal effect in exquisite detail, with dozens of variations for each cymbal, from short stabs to long tortured wails and everything in between. These often sought-after dramatic scoring and sound design fundamentals are perfect for setting dark moods, striking bold transitions, building stingers, weaving soundscapes and manipulating in any number of ways to evoke sonic images both dark and light.

Not content to leave it there, we experiment with dry ice on the cymbal surfaces. The results are just as wildly varied as the bowed articulations, but these squeals, hisses, screeches, drones, screams, rumbles and wails are an entirely different flavor. We recorded both sets of sustaining and short cymbal effects in two wide microphone positions, up close for full detail, presence and clarity without room coloration and out in a large hall, for a rich, lush and naturally spacious reverb ideal for epic and orchestral scoring.

Next, we created a collection of extraordinary melodic tuned percussion instruments from the most tonally pure and musical raw material within the library. Each tuned percussion preset has a unique and complex sound, with flowing overtones, broad warmth, clear highs and massive low end, with flavors ranging from darkly harmonic to pure and crystalline. Lastly, we designed over 1 GB of ambient instruments. You’ll find a spectacular array of pads, drones, synths, swirling dreamscapes, nightmarish hellscapes and complex evolving textures.

We’ve programmed the library with obsessive attention to detail and unmatched playability. You’ll find our usual front panel controls with full automation support on all critical parameters, plus multi-effects chain controls and our custom convolution reverb system. The tuned percussion presets include our powerful Uberpeggiator system and several of the ambience presets also include our dual-layer selection and real-time cross-fading system to allow an endless range of creative possibilities.
