 Even though the Randomisation engine plays a big part in Abstrung, for the most creative producers, Abstrung still offers the possibility to create patches from scratch, with multiple ways of choosing sound sources, including a categorised Sound Browser, which works hand in hand with the randomisation engine to create sounds which are “just right”. 

On-the-Fly Reverseable sounds

 Following the success of Sequi2r’s family reverseable sounds feature, Abstrung gives the option to reverse sounds on the fly and to adjust the length of each reversed sound with the mod wheel. 

3 Play modes

 In Abstrung you can select whether you want to play both sound sources at once (Single map Mode), one per key zone (Dual Map Mode) or let it happen randomly (Random Map Mode), creating interesting changing textures. This both while you are in Normal Mode or Step Sequencer Mode. The keyboard zone can be defined by the user. 

Creative Convolutions

 Unique reverb convolutions add to the picture to contribute in a creative way to the sound creation; reverbs that not only add space but define the final sound too. 

Twin Step Sequencer 

Abstrung features not one, but 2 step simultaneous sequencers with 8 memory slots. You can change sequence on the fly like in Sequi2r via keyswitch, but with Abstrung you’ll have double the fun. Also, you can record your sequences by playing, not by drawing, pretty much like in Sequi2r, but Abstrung’s process is even faster and simpler. Add to this Permanent random generated sequences and Temporary random sequence at the tip of a “keyswitch”, to spice up some stale repetitive phrases. 

Split personality 

You can perform one sequence per sound source (Twin Seq on) in Dual Map Mode, or have both sound sound sources playing simultaneously (Single Map) both sequences. Or you can run one sequence only (Twin Seq off) with both sound playing at once (Single Map), or one sound per define-able keyboard zone in Dual Map Mode.

Step & Master Effects

The Kick features 99 different kickdrums which are playable over three octaves.

Ferpect recorded a lot of different drum machines in the few last years and have selected some of the rare ones and run them thru saturation, compressing, cleaning processes and finally built a nice GUI for you to have lots of fun by turning 44 knobs to get a satisfying kickdrum experience for musicians and also the listeners.

There are some totally clean and original sounding famous kick drums and also some which we have hardly overworked to get some more modern or aggressive results to fill the toolbox for different music genres too.

You got 99 variations to start with. All presets are velocity sensitive in a very musical way and also tuned.

Add some extra drama by using the pitchbend in combination with other effects you got here in a very handy and intuitive GUI design.

You have the possibility to make the sound more epic and stereo by using the reverb, delay and flanger section. Here you can go real crazy if you want to.

In the mid section of the instrument you will find some more tone focussed effects like a compressor, a saturation unit, a powerful overdrive / distortion section and finally the low and hipass filters.

We’ve hand-crafted horrific demonic creatures, feverish states of sonic delirium, monstrously shambling slavering hordes and discordant fever dreams. We traveled to the edge of a hurricane and wandered the endless halls of decrepit, vermin infested industrial, military and institutional ruins to capture authentic, production grade field ambiences that truly live and breathe.

Sick 3 also includes a massive collection of 335 live stereo convolution reverb impulse response files captured in a wide range of remote horror-friendly environments: bunkers, prisons, waterfronts, graveyards, forests, chambers, warehouses, sewers and more.

We’ve focused this catalog of impulses on environments leaning toward dark and foreboding, from the vast hopelessness of a derelict prison hall to a terrifyingly claustrophobic earthen grave. Recorded at a variety of capture distances, angles and degrees of occlusion, they provide realistic coloration and spatialization when placing additional instruments, sound design and foley into a mix, allowing you to augment other source material in your music, film, television, game or multimedia production.

SEQUENCER ONE is a digital recreation of an 8-step CV/Gate sequencer classic: The rare SEQUENCER DRUM, produced by EHX during the early eighties.

It’s a little silver, black and green metal box with only one single square analogue oscillator, eight steps and a few simple controls for pitch, decay and speed rate.

It was originally named SEQUENCER DRUM because it had to be triggered/started with the hit of a drumstick on its trigger pad.

NOTE: The Full version of Kontakt 5.8.1 or above is required. Not for Kontakt Player. Will also work with the Full version of Kontakt 6

Now, over 35 years later, we’re bringing this little box back to life as a soft Kontakt synth. The creator of The Bandoneon, the film composer Guillermo Guareschi, presents a new and exciting Kontakt Library intended to become a singular tool for composers and musicians.

The Ronroco belongs to the family of the Charangos, a typical South-American instrument. It is like a Charango but bigger in size with a deep and warmer sound. It was brought to the international scene by the two-time Oscar winner, Gustavo Santaolalla. He uses the Ronroco in almost all his projects, such as “The Last of Us”, “Brokeback Mountain”, “Babel” and Michael Mann’s film, “The Insider” among others.

FELT 54 is an intimate felt piano with character, it’s not the conventional bright and harmonically complex upright piano.

Stereo sampled from a felt customized upright Yamaha U3 1975 that has been modified in a way that makes the tone more pure, yet preserves its harmonic richness. A 0.8mm felt strip was added between the hammers and strings, and the middle section’s tone of the piano was simplified by muting 2 out of 3 strings per note. The instrument was captured by 3 microphones resulting in a very intimate stereo image.

FELT 54 covers a range of 54 notes, the sweet spot range of this particular piano.

FELT 54 is ideal for Ambient music and Melancholic film scores, as well as LO-FI hip-hop music with the Tape settings driven up.

The Melodica Cassetto 26 is another easy to use and super rich sounding reed instrument made by the German company Hohner*.

The sound is generated by blowing air thru a mouthpiece into fine brass reeds like those used in Harmonicas. This one got an extra chamber at the bottom for more resonances.

This underrated instruments were used by musicians like UB40, Depeche Mode, The Gorillas, The Hooters, Supertramp and… you too name a few!

We are very happy to get our hands on one of these super rare instruments in a very good condition. The Cassotto Melodicas are very hard to find in a good condition.

We have recorded this old, plastic and fantastic pretty with four different types of microphones thru well selected preamps after some time consuming experiments.

Overview
Each microphone can be tuned in separately in the master area at the head of the instrument. So you can take advantage of the different characters of the four microphone types and mix your own original pretty red sound until it fits your taste perfectly.

The noise from blowing air into the Melodica was separated from the musical material and made usable thru an extra mixing knob. The same processing we did with the clicks which were produced by pressing the keys on the Melodica. So you can now add/reduce the noise from blowing by turning the noise knob and add/reduce the clicks from the keys by turning the click knob.

Here comes our “DIGGI-DUB”. A synthesizer build to resurrect some classy, warm and dusty memories and finally make them useable.

We want to make a really digital and old skool sounding lo-fi synthesizer this time. Like the old casio toy pianos and stuff like that.

Diggi-Dub uses a lot of different saturation, distortion, modulation and lo-fi effects in a very interesting chain and also very interesting results.

The samples we have used are mostly phat pad and key sounds but also some chords, stabs and drum sounds. Diggi-Dub is built from 1.197 stereo wave samples in 24 Bit and 44.1 kHz quality (1,5 GB). You got 19 different instruments to start with.

The concept on that beautiful looking instrument is to make drastic changes to the sound for example by turning the speed to a totally different level or experiment with the formants or let the lows and highs wobble against each other
